Material Spells — 2026
Material Spells is the title of my thesis, written in culmination of two big years spent toiling away in the studios at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
The book was designed by Rey Carlson and printed on a Risograph in Detroit, MI with sage guidance from Brendan Page. Most of the photographs included in the book are my own, with a few made by Daniel Ribar. Thirty-three copies were cut and bound by hand, by me. Pictured here are a selection of spreads *
The book launched at Eternal Now in Oakland, California on Saturday June 13th, 2026. This event included a live reading of a short section from the book’s introduction, which was accompanied by poetry readings by members of the community.
